About the Event

Look, I know how a lot of people feel about fennel. I was one of them. But, if you're one of those that havn't yet learned to appreciate it, let me just ask you to try again. Pretty please? Trust me. 

This braised white bean dish starts off with caramelizing onions and fennel. When the two bulbs cook low and slow, the flavors meld and turn very delicate. The fennel flavor is still detectable, but the pleasant sweetness takes over in the best way. And caramelizing tomato paste on top of it all knocks this culinary situation out of the park. And that's just when the fun really begins!

The braised white beans are creamy, the greens are soft, the bouillon plays a solid background role, the smoked paprika adds a depth of flavor, and the splash of lemon or sherry vinegar brings the whole thing home. And when you serve this on top of garlic-rubbed crusty bread, it's a flawless meal. I can't say enough about this dish, and I'm SO EXCITED to share it with you! 

In this cook-along class, we're going to learn to make the best braised white beans in the whole world.

  • explore and taste fennel as it goes from raw to caramelized
  • layer flavors to achieve the best results
  • practice our knife skills as we prep a whole lotta veggies
  • caramelize tomato paste to bring a little extra magic to our dish
  • see how a splash of lemon or vinegar brings life to a creamy dish
  • have a blast with our cooking community!

So tie on your favorite apron and come make yummy things with us!  We'll have tons of fun and learn lots of culinary techniques along the way! 

Class will be Thursday, February 29th from 5:30-6:30pm EST.
