About the Event

Spring onions a.k.a. green onions a.k.a scallions are one of my favorite veggies. They're versatile, sweet, inexpensive, easy to grow, and DELICIOUS. I love them grilled, sautéed, fried, and especially tucked inside of these amazing cakes. Let's continue our celebration of spring with this dish worthy of the fanciest brunch party!


In this class, we're going to learn all the tips and tricks of making these scallion and herb cakes:  

Together, we'll:

  • sauté the onions to bring out their natural sweetness 
  • create a batter using fresh herbs and our cooked onions
  • pan fry the cakes until golden brown and delicious
  • make a blended feta sauce to perfectly compliment the onion cakes 

So won't you join us?  We'll have tons of fun and learn lots of awesome culinary tips and tricks along the way. 

This class will be Thursday, May 4th from 5:00-6:30pm EST via Zoom. (PLEASE NOTE EARLIER CLASS TIME.)

Our recipes are all pantry-centered because we believe that having certain essential ingredients on hand is key to successful home cooking. We combine these pantry basics - whole grains, herbs, spices, and/or legumes - with a few fresh ingredients to create simple, affordable, nutritious, and delicious recipes that anyone can make.
