Seared sweet scallions. Chewy noodles. Silky egg yolk. Toasty sesame sauce. Friends, this meal elevates the simplest ingredients and turns them into pure culinary magic. This is one of our favorite springtime meals, and I can't wait to share it with you. Come join us!

About the Event

In my humble opinion, scallions are the very best onion. They're super sweet, mild, inexpensive, easy to grow, and can be enjoyed raw or cooked in a myriad of ways. Unlike most onions that you buy in the store, they have the greens, too! 

Sadly, though, many cooks never look beyond them as a garnish. When cooked, they're super duper sweet, really fragrant, and have an awesome texture. They take well to searing, grilling, pickling, frying, and so much more. 

In this class, we're going to celebrate the scallion with my favorite springtime noodle dish. And, you just wait until the silky egg yolk meets the noodles...grab the tissues because there's about to be happy tears.

In just 60 minutes, we'll...

  • sear scallions to bring out their natural sweetness
  • boil up the perfect noodles
  • create a sweet and sour sesame scallion sauce
  • fry up a sesame-infused egg
  • have a blast with our cooking community!

So tie on your favorite apron and come make yummy things with us!  We'll have tons of fun and learn lots of culinary techniques along the way!

Class will be Thursday, May 23rd from 5:30-6:30pm EST.

And, as always, this class makes use of some items from your perfect pantry ingredients!

Our recipes are all pantry-centered because we believe that having certain essential ingredients on hand is key to successful home cooking. We combine these pantry basics - whole grains, herbs, spices, and/or legumes - with a few fresh ingredients to create simple, affordable, nutritious, and delicious recipes that anyone can make.
