Veggie Pot Pie ~ Nourishing Comfort Foods
Winter is best time for comforting, warming, nourishing foods. In this mini-series, we will explore veggie-forward dishes like butternut mac and cheese, bean chili with cornbread muffins, and veggie pot pie. Come join us!

About the Event
What better time to explore comfort foods than the winter? In this Nourishing Comfort Foods mini-series, we're going to take a veggie-centric approach to classic comfort foods.Â
In this particular class, we'll make a fantastic veggie pot pie that makes use of phyllo dough to create a flaky, light, buttery cap on top! Â we'll be focusing on seasonal prouce for this pot pie, and we do promise deliciousness. And, for those who don't maybe love kale and root veggies, this may be your ticket! Â
In this class, we will...
- prep and discuss seasonal ingredients like greens and root veggiesÂ
- learn how a roux can lead to a thick and lovely sauce for our pot pie
- see how versatile phyllo dough can be
- eat a delicious lunch!
So come join us as we have tons of fun, make delicious food, and learn lots of great things with our community.
This class will be held on February 20th, from 11-1pm, at the Jackson County Public Library in Downtown Sylva.
