There's a reason people have entire cabinets dedicated to spices. They make food special and make an ordinary ingredient completely memorable. The right combination of herbs and spices can take your food to different corners of the U.S. or across the ocean. And you can make the most amazing spice blends at home!
If you've ever examined the ingredients on pre-made spice blends, you noticed that a lot of them contain tons of salt, fillers, and anti-caking agents. First, salt is super inexpensive. Why pay oodles of cash for it? Secondly, who wants to eat fillers and additives? NOT ME.
In this class, we'll make three yummy spice blends and use them to make dressings, marinades, and more. We'll even do a taste comparison between the three mixes so you can see how a simple ingredient like a plain piece of chicken or bit of shrimp can be transformed with the right spices and cooking method.
