About the Event
WE FINALLY DID IT! This class is dedicated to a giant triumph: MINI POT PIES! Pot pie is often seen as a labor of love that takes eons to bake. But not these babies.
We make use a muffin tin and wonderful store-bought puff pastry (because even some of my most favorite professional celebrity bakers and chefs have no idea why anyone would go to the trouble of making it themselves) to encase the perfectly cooked savory pie. And it cooks in a flash!
For this recipe, we'll be focusing on seasonal produce, and I do promise deliciousness. And, for those who don't love kale and root veggies, this may be your ticket!
In this cook-along class, we're going to learn to make the best and most adorable veggie pot pies in the whole world.
In just 60 minutes, we'll...
- prep and discuss seasonal ingredients like greens and root veggies
- learn how a roux can lead to a thick and lovely sauce for our pot pie
- see how versatile puff pastry can be
- watch as an egg wash turns the top of the mini pot pie into a glossy work of art
- have a blast with our cooking community!
So tie on your favorite apron and come make yummy things with us! We'll have tons of fun and learn lots of culinary techniques along the way!
Class will be Thursday, March 21st from 5:30-6:30pm EST.
And, as always, this class makes use of some items from your perfect pantry ingredients!
Our recipes are all pantry-centered because we believe that having certain essential ingredients on hand is key to successful home cooking. We combine these pantry basics - whole grains, herbs, spices, and/or legumes - with a few fresh ingredients to create simple, affordable, nutritious, and delicious recipes that anyone can make.
