About the Event
I have a favorite ramen place in Asheville that I visit every chance I'm able. Usually I go there with a friend, but, recently, I had a craving, and Josie was in tow. I had no clue what she'd eat, and so I asked the server what they recommended. Chicken katsu was the thing. Of course, I got the sauce on the side because that couldn't have been a deal-breaker for her.
To make a long story short, the katsu arrived, and the crunch could be heard around the restaurant. And, as for the sauce, it was sweet, sour, and had incredible umami. While Josie didn't indulge in the sauce, I sure did. I dipped noodles in it, and I immediately began thinking of recreating it at home. Lucky for you, this class is decidated to all I've learned!
In this class, we're going to make an ultra crispy tofu katsu with dipping sauce plus a lovely sesame slaw. During class, we're going to...
- prepare tofu like pros
- learn the easiest way to bread and pan fry (or air fry) food
- make a tasty katsu sauce
- create a simple and flexible slaw
- have fun with our cooking community
- make a meal for 4 for under $10!
So won't you join us? We'll have tons of fun and learn lots of awesome culinary tips and tricks along the way.
This class will be Thursday, March 2nd from 5:30-7pm EST via Zoom.
