This class is a twofer! We'll be making veggie stuffed stuffing and fresh orange spice cranberry sauce...all in 90 minutes!
Stuffing (or technically dressing when it's not cooked inside of the bird), is a blank, bready canvas that you can color up with your favorite goodies. Tons of veggies? Sure. Sausage? Sure. Almonds? Why not? It's all fair game.
I'm a self-proclaimed stuffing snob, but I wasn't always that way. I grew up never putting stuffing on my plate. I tried it once or twice, and it was usually bland, strangely textured, and blah. So I didn't try it again until I starting dating a man (my current wonderful hubby, John) that loved stuffing. Loved stuffing? WHY?!?! HOW?!?!
But now I see....oh, goodness, do I see. The glory of moist, flavorful, perfectly-seasoned veggie-laden stuffing is perhaps the greatest Thanksgiving culinary achievement. (Well, that and a gravy so good, it'll make you weep with joy.) And it's not even that difficult! And I'll show you.
And the cranberry sauce....bright, sweet, tart, spiced, and fragrant. This sauce is a one-pot wonder that you'll go to year after year after year.
So ignore that boxed stuff and that canned stuff and let's get cooking! Come and join me as we make these two timeless Thanksgiving classics and learn lots of culinary techniques along the way!
